With a history dating back to 1894, the famous cosmetics and perfumes manufacturer Dzintars needed a headquarters with an interior and exterior to match their legendary status.
Created by Make Make the reconstruction concept of the H.A. Brieger factory building will give a new look and feel to its entrance hall, exhibition hall, store and pick-up point for e-sales, technical floor, office floors, its many R&D and quality-control labs, as well as production, packing and storage facilities.
The reconstruction is aimed to open a new chapter in the history of the brand. It focuses on the efficiency and quality of the production, as well as the sustainability of all processes. That is why design choices are multifunctional and flexible, open for reuse and reinterpretation in line with the principles of a circular economy.
An important part of the reconstruction is reclaiming the central courtyard — instead of cars, it will now be a place for humans. It will be open not only to Dzintars employees but to locals as well, providing a much-needed, quality public space for an under-developed neighborhood. A place to meet, to discover and rest, the Dzintars courtyard will become a pillar for the formation of the local community of the Ziepniekkalns area.
