Our team has been deeply inspired by the history of Queen Kapiʻolani, particularly her commitment to women and children's health, advocacy for education, and her enduring commitment to protecting the culture of Hawaii.
The Queen Kapiʻolani Hotel, completed in 1969, was designed by Japanese architect Ernest Hideo Hara.

Upon entering the lobby from Kapahula avenue you are met with a quote by The Queen: “The best way to predict the future is to create it”.

Arriving by car, you will find an important statement reflecting on the beauty and fragility of the Hawaiian nature. We propose a commissioned work for the reception and concierge desks by the acclaimed artist Dustin Yellin.

…in the evening, a bartender equipped with a trolley filled, glides through the lobby, offering craft cocktails on the spot. Additionally, seating areas are equipped with call buttons enabling guests to summon a waiter for assistance.

To maintain a sleek aesthetic, we conceal the bottles in the bar area behind panels that can be opened up in the evening, adding an element of surprise and sophistication to the space.

The circular ‘waterfall’ stairs provide essential (and historical) connectivity to the public areas on the 2nd floor while doubling as an amphitheater. The oversized landing is primed as a stage for local events or gatherings, with curtains to enclose the space.
